The new team were quick to spot the unique skills of the Sydneysiders though, and largely left them to do what they do best – design great games. Indeed, it was this talent for innovative and stylish slots that attracted NYX to the deal in the first place.
This convenient corporate arrangement continued for many successful years, until NextGen Gaming’s new owners were themselves the subject of a bid from the Las Vegas based gaming giant Scientific Games. The proposed acquisition was announced in 2017 and successfully completed early the following year.
Today, the company continues to operate relatively autonomously under the Scientific Games conglomerate’s corporate umbrella. It may have lost its independent status, but its new status gives it the advantage of its owners’ corporate and financial muscle, which it can use to develop its influence and games coverage throughout the world.

NextGen Gaming now have well over a hundred superb slots in their locker, and the overall quality is consistently high.
