The Lowdown of Pariplay
Founded in 2010, Pariplay is a leading provider of online gaming software. With a total workforce of around a hundred employees, it has game development offices in Bulgaria, Israel and India. The bulk of the company’s staff is employed in Bulgaria. Pariplay has additional correspondence and administrative offices within the UK dependent territories of Gibraltar and the Isle of Man.
The company has recently been acquired by the online casino platform operator Aspire Global. The takeover was completed in June 2019, with the new owners paying just over €13 million for Pariplay. It’s a good match up – Aspire Global provide an excellent casino platform, operating their own casinos and providing the template for other operators to operate on too. Meanwhile, they can now add their own subsidiary to the wide range of software suppliers who provide the games for their own and their licenced partners’ casinos.
Crucially, Pariplay already have a foothold in the American market, holding a licence to operate in the relatively relaxed regulatory climate which prevails in the state of New Jersey. This will enable their new owners to access the US online gaming market for the first time. Pariplay Managing Director Adrian Bailey is also delighted with the new arrangement, as Aspire Global’s considerable industry muscle and influence will enable Pariplay’s excellent games to be distributed to a wider international audience.
Games
There are already well over a hundred games in the Pariplay portfolio, with more being released on a regular basis. The company produce new games at the rate of around one per month on average. Although this company is not one of the biggest names among software providers, it does produce a superb selection of titles, many of which are regular player favourites.
Slots
The company produce a wide range of titles. With such a varied output, Pariplay have all of the major genres covered. Asian themes are covered by titles such as Bai She Zhuan, Fortune Dragons, New Year Happiness and Xi You Ji. The widespread geographical themes continue from the Orient toward Egypt, with Book of Riches and Luxor among the games to be found among the pyramids. There is also their mash up game to consider too: Jonny Ventura and the Eye of Ra features a mix of the adventure and pharaonic themes, putting Indiana Jones to shame.
Further north and west on our journey across the globe, you will find Emerald Isle themed games like Lucky Irish. Pot O’ Gold is a worthy title as well for those looking for a fix of lucky Leprechauns
Traditional fruit machine game fans are also well catered for, with games like Froots and Fruit Basket looking good. Wild Cherry is the exception. Probably Pariplay’s weakest game, it may look like it’s an original classic, but it was in fact released as recently as 2018. It’s clearly intended to be a retro game, but I’m really not sure it works at all. Featuring a clunky plinky plonky soundtrack, terrible blocky graphics and reel symbols which consist almost entirely of playing card symbols, this game is not worthy of its place amongst the company’s generally excellent range. Thankfully, the usual quality control standards are restored with impressive titles like Amazing Riches, Gems Odyssey and Quantum Clash.
Animal themes abound too. Rumble Rhino is a regular player favourite, and Savage Lion is worth a try too. Plus there is the enchanting panda packed Bamboo Fortune to consider as well. Other furry friend featured games take a more quirky, fun loving approach. These include titles like Mystery Fox, Pets and Pets Go Wild.
Pariplay are also masters of the darker side of slots. Crypt Keeper, Wild Thirst and Zombies Gone Wild can be creepy and gothic in a Hammer Horror kind of way. Meanwhile, Bloodshot and Bloodshot: Rising Spirit take a more directly violent approach. Both are action packed, bloodthirsty ‘shoot ‘em up’ slots.
Also worth a mention because it doesn’t really fit in anywhere else, is Sharknado. This interesting game is actually an officially licenced slot derived from a long forgotten ‘classic’ TV movie. Falling into the ‘so bad it’s good’ category, the graphics on this game were well ahead of their time when released, but seem charmingly dated now. Watch with horror / amusement as the hapless actors get threatened by murderous great white sharks which leap out of the water behind your reels in this silly but somehow compelling slot.
Table Games
The traditional side of the casino is not a Pariplay strength, but they do have a couple of Roulette formats in their locker. Other traditional games are also available, including a good Bingo format and a pair of Keno offerings.
